Joey Silver comes from a long ancestral line of rebels, adventurers and change-makers. Her own passion for storytelling and filmmaking draws inspiration not only from her own lived experiences, but those of her ancestors.  As an Alberta-based emerging Metis filmmaker, Joey has demonstrated a commitment to learning and sharing the stories of her Metis ancestors in authentic and compelling cinematic films.

Her path to filmmaking has been anything but conventional, reflecting the unique perspectives often found in neurodivergent artists. However, the creation of her production company, Second Place Pictures, marks the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to bring her stories to the screen.

Joey currently resides in Morinville, Alberta, with her husband, Shane, and their two sons, Sullivan and Slater.
